Personalised Announcements Cards
Announcements cards are the perfect way to make announcements invitations. You can buy announcements cards for almost any event: birthday announcement, wedding announcement, even to announce a baby shower. An announcements card is really the perfect way to inform friends, family, and colleagues about your up coming special event and make the celebration perfect.
I recently got married, and boy let me tell you – there is more to designing announcements cards than meets the eye. I really had to leave it up to my wife in the final analysis, since she knows so much more about design and organizing the specifics of things than I do. She is an accountant, but majored in art in school, so between those two she knows everything about both design and about organization. She really is perfect.
But anyway, we were bothe baffled by the dizzying array fo announcements and invitations. There were announcements cards for almost every taste – bright, gaudy announcements cards with silver leaf, tacky modern announcements and invitations with silly looking smilies. Classic announcements cards with beautiful ornamentation, and of course, we could always have the announcement card with the subtle, sort of corporate looking grey border and subdued tone.
Eventually, we opted to design our own announcements cards. This is easier than you might think. You see, there are a wide range of business which will print up your design in any way which you chose to have it displayed. It seems expensive when you first see the price, but actually it is much cheaper than just buying pre-designed announcements and invitations from a professional designer. She included a little stylized wood-block print of the two of us embracing when we first became engaged, and a lovely textured paper which added some class to the announcements cards.
Of course, we still had the matter of inviting people. We had to figure out how many people were coming to the wedding before we could print the announcements cards, and as you might know if you've gotten married, this is one of the hardest decisions for anyone to have to make.We finally decided on a moderate wedding, with a crowd of two hundred. We are both very social people, and felt sad to not be able to invite even more people, since we knew that some of our friends would take it as an insult not to be invited along as well. Finally, however, we finalized our invitations and sent out our announcements cards .
